Addison Scurlock is a man of great talent and skill. He managed to capture a very monumental time period in american history and he did it all with his camera. Addison Scurlock was a key feature in capturing and telling the story of the black renaissance that happened in Washington, D.C. in the early 1900s. Scurlock photographed almost every aspect of university life that happened at Howard University along with other major moments like Martin Luther King, Jr giving one of his famous speeches. Addison Scurlock gave this black movement a face and it was the faces of everyone he photographed.
